Hey Everyone! I have started a full-time job and have recently moved, so until I’ve found a routine in all this newness, we’ll be updating comics as I find the time to do them. I know it sucks and it’s been a long time. I am just so crazy busy. If you want to know what Rasmus is up to, and you can speak Swedish, he has his own auto-bio comics that he updates every now and then.

I’m loving the inks done with the brush. I know it takes a while (I’ve spent houuurss on a comic before because I didn’t want to screw it up) but very well worth it with the washes! I can’t wait to see the next update!
Hope everything is going well with the new job.
Caught up on the archives, very nice work, both of you! Found this site while reading another and had it on my list to catch up on. But before reading it, I went and read Anders Loves Maria first … wow. Just … wow.
I am a grown man in his 40′s … and that made me cry. Shame on you. ::snicker:: Well done, very well done. Good thing I work night shift so only one or two people who could have seen me, but they were at lunch when I got to the ending.
You both have a talent for art and storytelling, I look forward to following your adventures
I guess “sporadically” means “none.” Hope your new job is going well.
Not sure why I bother checking for updates anymore, the last one was December 5th?
Hey guys. I know this really sucks. But there is just no time left. I’m working 12 hour days on my job plus a family. In the middle of all this I just moved and I have to renovate my old place in order to sell it. It is crazy. I’m hoping that I will be able to find a good balance soon, but I can’t say when that will be right now. Thankfully the internet is full of other fantastic comics and I hope you come back to read this when we start updating again.
I think if you had simply stated that there would be no more posts from the beginning, rather than pretend you were going to sometimes post, that you wouldn’t have upset some of your fans. And you’re right. There are LOADS of other comics out there for us all to enjoy.
Hey Libby
I’m sorry if you’re upset. Of course when I started this job I had no idea what the workload would be like, otherwise I would have been more clear from the start. It’s proven to be more time-consuming than I first thought. Since this comic is only a hobby and generates zero income our jobs and family take first priority. Obviously you like the comic so it would be fantastic if you wanted to come back and read once we find the time to update again. Because surely we must be able to squeeze in a comic schedule somehow.
Yikes! 12 hour days plus kids no wonder you guys haven’t been updating. It’s all good, people just don’t like to be left hanging. Good luck with the renovations!
While I do miss seeing your updates, I totally understand why there haven’t been any lately. Moving from my house to a dorm at college took up a buttload of my time. I can’t imagine actually permanently moving all my stuff. Plus, tacking on a family to take care of and a new job… that’s got to be a lot. I hope you are at least enjoying your new job and location, Rene! People who are getting cranky about this need to realize that this is not your job… like you said, it’s a hobby, meant first and foremost for the both of you to enjoy, and while all of the rest of us love reading it, that doesn’t make it a priority for you, nor should anyone be acting like we’re more important than your actual lives. Just keep doing what your doing and hopefully update soon! :) I’m going to have to re-read Anders Loves Maria in the meantime, though! Anyway, thanks for what you guys do post here! You’re both very talented artists and storytellers and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you.
Rene,
No worries. Life happens, the wisdom of age helps us to understand that. I would love to see updates, but understand it’s just not feasible right now. So I will do as I have been since catching up the archives … got this site on my weekly checklist, will keep checking in to see what’s new. Good luck to you both, hope all turns out well.
I don’t speak Swedish (though it is a part of my heritage … Swedish and Norwegian together comprise about 80% of my family tree, heh) but I did check out Rasmus’ page just to see if I could get the gist by graphics alone. :D Hm … maybe I could bide my time by learning Swedish …
I reckon some people missed my point, which wasn’t the lack of updates, rather the lack of telling your readers about it properly. I see you updated the page, and I thank you for that. And no worries, I was never upset, I was trying to offer you a different perspective.
R & R, don’t apologise. The minute you start being made to feel obliged to offer your art to the world on a set schedule, is the minute that we really should think of truly earning it. Renee, if you’d rushed Anders loves Maria, something irreplaceable could potentially have been lost. Having said that, hope you get settled in enough to make time for your generous hobbies that you obviously and we certainly love :p
Whatever Libby, you sounded like a total snot in both of your original comments. People have lives.
Libby, some perspective for you is to consider how you communicate yourself. Sometimes written out, things can sound a whole lot different from the intent. Both Rasmus and Rene have twitters too, if ever “concerned” that is easily a way to see if there is any updates on life situations or comics. That’s the cool thing about a lot of modern webcomic artists.
Just checking in — everything going well Rene? :D
